Part I: “Estate Planning for the Rest of Us” (Michael Hopper)

In the world of an $11 million estate tax exemption, the overwhelming majority of Americans no longer require an estate plan to minimize the burden of estate taxes.  Instead, for most individuals, the primary purpose of an estate plan is to make life easier on surviving loved ones and to ensure that the right assets end up in the hands of the right heirs at the right time.  Michael will explore the documents necessary to accomplish these goals, discuss how trusts function and where they fit into an overall estate plan.
